Rules |
For returning players, create a new player for this year named:
(ID#)(your name)18. (i.e. 01Suemi18)
For new players, thinking of joining the tour, read the Registration Page for creating your player.
First,
you must complete the registration process by submitting your
qualifying rounds. Go to
the Main Page and click on Registration to read the details concerning
the Qualifying Rounds. Your initial handicap will be based on the
results of those Qualifying Rounds and your handicap will be modified
on a weekly basis as you submit each additional round of golf in the
manner described in Items 6 & 7 below. If you have submitted your
Qualifying Rounds properly, you will receive an email assigning you a
Player I.D. Number to be used in naming your files during the tour.
Please refer to ConnLINKS Reference Page at the How To page for
more details concerning how to submit your scores for both the
Qualifying Rounds and the normal weekly Events.
Using
the CTL player that you created and used in your Qualifying Rounds,
you will play one Event per week which will consist of one 18 hole
RECORDED and VERIFIED
round of golf. Conditions
will be posted in advance to allow ample time for you to participate
in each Event.
For
each weekly Event, you RECORD your game and VERIFY your scorecard.
When you submit your scores, you will submit
your Pin File, your RECORDED GAME file and your VERIFIED SCORE
file, which must be all zipped into a SINGLE ZIP FILE.
Click on SUBMIT SCORES from
the drop down menu on
the Main Page of ConnLINKS. There
you must indicate your Player ID Number, your Handle, the Event No.,
Course played and your score. You
must also rate the course on a scale of 1 to 5, ( one being the worst
and five being the best ) This course rating will help us to determine courses used in
next year’s events. After you have completed that form you will then
be taken to another page where you must submit your files for that
event in ZIPPED form. NOTE THAT ONLY ZIPPED FILES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Please refer to ConnLINKS Reference Page for more details. You
can also refer to the How To pages on how to ZIP files and how to
Record Games and Verify Files.
Everyone MUST use the same version of LSLINKS as they qualified on for each event during the year. All events are played at the PRO, CHAMP or ELITE level; however once you start at either PRO, CHAMP or ELITE, you must continue with the playing ability for the entire length of the playing year. ALL events will be played from the BACK TEES, but the course and conditions will change from event to event. Check and double-check the condition settings before you begin a round. USE THE LTS FILES for setting the conditions, but there is no need to use the email function of the LTS file.
Failure to play with the
proper settings will disqualify you from the event.
Failure to use the course provided by ConnLINKS will disqualify you from the event.
Failure to submit the correct files will disqualify you from the event.
All errors in completing the required information when reporting your weekly scores are yours, so take your time when reporting! Use the Scores button on the main page to insure your score has been submitted correctly. If you see an error, WRITE TO US immediately. Once we update the event Sunday morning, it is too late to tell us you mistakenly reported event 2 as event 3 and therefore, your winning score for event 2 is missing (for example).
Powerstroke,
RTS and click styles are all acceptable; HOWEVER, you must maintain the
style chosen throughout the tour.
Gimmies
are not allowed and chipping on the green is not allowed.
Putting assistant is NOT allowed. Should we discover you are using the putting assistant, you will be banned from the tour. The breakline indicator is ok to use.
Your
CTL player cannot be used for ANY PURPOSE other than recording your
rounds of golf to be submitted to ConnLINKS.
Any discrepancies will be addressed by the Tour Directors.
Events
will run from Midnight Eastern Time Zone on Sunday until Midnight
Eastern Time Zone on the following Saturday.
You MUST submit your scores using the Report Scores Page. Results will be posted at some point during the day on Sunday.
In case of a tie, the closest to the pin on the first hole in
regulation will be declared the WINNER and that person's name will be
entered into the TROPHY ROOM but all who tied will receive the first
place prize.
Schedules will be posted in 2 week intervals. However, if you are going away on an extended vacation, or other acceptable reason, we can provide you with future event conditions upon written request to us.
CALCULATION
OF OVERALL AVERAGE FOR EACH PLAYER:
Your
initial handicap will be based solely on your Qualifying Rounds (one of
which will be in No Wind, one in Breezy and one in Windy). As you play additional games, we will average your 3 lowest
scores played in your last 5 games. We
will then compare your average against the lowest averaged player in your
version (the 'base' average). You
will receive an 80% handicap of the difference between your average and
the 'base' average.
Although
not even close to being an exact perfect formula, we feel it's close
enough for a FUN LEAGUE.
If
players are thought to be 'sandbagging' for purposes of adjusting their
average on which the handicap is based, they will be disqualified from
participating in ConnLINKS. The
decision of the Tour Directors will be final.
HANDICAP:
Tour
Directors reserve the right to modify the handicap system, but no
modifications will take place without email notification to the players.
HUSKY
BUCKS!!
(ConnLINKS' version of Prize Money for Weekly Events)
To
keep the competitive edge in our friendly FUN tour, we will be awarding
HUSKY BUCKS each week to all participating players.
Again, although we may be sounding like a recording, we want to
remind you that our sole purpose in every aspect of this tour is to find
ways to keep it fair, competitive and simple enough to have you all coming
back week after week. With
this in mind, we have created what we feel is a fair way to disburse the
weekly cash purse (Husky Bucks):
The process as to how we distribute the money will be based on LOWEST NET score. The winner or those who tied for the top spot will receive $250.00. We then have a program that disburses HUSKY BUCKS according to what place you finish for that week which accounts for every stroke. For example two players tie for first and receive $250.00, the next place would be THIRD Place since one of the two that tied for first will take the trophy and the other one would also take the first place money. If three people tie then all of them would get the $250.00 and the next highest payout would be FOURTH place money since three people finished ahead of him/her. Every place after that will have less money. This system should make every shot count.
In
addition, we run a weekly PAR 3 event.
The closest to the pin on the FIRST PAR 3 (must be within 10 feet)
of the scheduled course will be awarded $50 Husky Bucks. In
order to be eligible, you MUST record the shot and send the SHT file in
with your event files. You must also
insert in the comment box that you are submitting your SHT file and what
your distance from the pin was. If
there is no winner in any event, the $50 prize money for first place will
roll over to the next week's winner.
We'll
maintain a page at the site showing each player's Husky Bucks Account!!!
YOU,
and YOU ALONE, are each responsible for submitting the required
files/scores etc. for each event on time.
Failure to do so may disqualify you from an event.
All decisions of the Tour Directors are final. Keep in mind, we're just a couple of fellow players putting
this little tour together for FUN!!! We will not become babysitters!!
LOL Any questions
concerning any of the rules/procedures will be answered PROMPTLY.
No question is a silly question.
If you have a question, or run into a problem with your files,
etc., WRITE US.
(For
instance, your PIN file submitted each week MUST correspond to the number
of holes SUBMITTED to date to ConnLINKS. If you make a mistake and use your CTL player for a couple of
holes in some online game or something, stop and LET US KNOW!!
We will find out anyhow when we compare your file to your submitted
games. Without notice by you
of your mistake, it may be construed that you were attempting to cheat and
may disqualify you from participating at ConnLINKS.)
TEAM HUSKY BUCKS.
The two person Team winners will be based upon their combined scores for the event using their handicaps, and the payoffs will be as follows:
1st Place LOWEST NET score will receive $500.00
2nd Place LOWEST NET score will receive $400.00
3rd Place LOWEST NET score will receive $300.00
4th Place LOWEST NET score will receive $200.00
5th Place LOWEST NET score will receive $100.00
All teams who finish beyond 5th place will receive $50.00
Low SCRATCH score will receive $50.00
TIE BREAKERS. ConnLINKS will use the following system to break ties for weekly events to see who will get into the trophy room. The closest to the pin on the first hole in regulation will be the winner.
TEAM HANDICAPS. Offline Team handicaps will be based on the total combined handicaps of both players. Online Team handicaps will be based on HALF of their combined Team Handicaps, IF we run any online team events..
HAVE
FUN.
This is the SOLE purpose of this little tour. A little friendly competition between fellow LinksLS fans is
all this tour is about!!! Golfers invited to participate in ConnLINKS are
expected to participate regularly, play fairly and display good
sportsmanship at all times.
CRASHES.
In the event of a computer crash during your recorded game, you
have the option of:
1)
Restarting game, and writing to ConnLINKS to tell us why your pin file
will not match the number of holes played; or
2)
Skipping the event. In which
case, you will still need to write to ConnLINKS to inform us why your pin
file for the next event will not match the number of holes submitted to
ConnLINKS.
Should
you not have the time to replay the match, you may finish the round, and
submit your score to us along with your pin file; HOWEVER, acceptance of a
score submitted WITHOUT the proper files, is at the sole discretion of
ConnLINKS. The fact that
ConnLINKS may accept a score for an event without the proper files, does
NOT require ConnLINKS to do so again should another crash occur. Each situation will be treated separately and the decision of
ConnLINKS is final.
We have found over the last few years that players sometime decide to drop out of playing ConnLINKS but fail to tell us. If you fail to play in four consecutive events without telling us you will be dropped from the roster. If you are dropped and decide you want to start playing again you must re-qualify since it would have been four weeks since you played here and perhaps your ability has changed. You will be notified prior to us dropping you from the roster and depending on the circumstances you will be dropped after missing four consecutive rounds. This may seem harsh but we need to find committed players and we do not enjoy deleting players only to find out 2 months later they want to play again, this creates more work for us and believe me, we’re lazy when it comes to work!!! LOL The bottom line is this, if you can’t play for any reason just let us know and there will be no hassle at all.
